Microsoft Corporation Surface Pro 4 To Beat Apple iPad Pro

The tablet wars are heating up right now and Microsoft is gearing up to introduce the Surface Pro 4 to the masses with a price reduction for the Surface Pro3

Things have started to heat up in the tablet category as Microsoft Surface Pro seems to get some attention and love from tablet enthusiasts. The recent Surface Pro 3 has bagged some awards in terms of portability and flexibility, at least in our books. A pure Windows device that offers the versatility as provided by the Surface Pro 3 is yet to be seen.

So Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will follow its usual course as it has been with tech gadgets and will bring out the Surface Pro 4. This is also bolstered by the fact that the company just dropped $150 from the price of the Surface Pro 3 in the US and Canada. This means that the company is preparing to announce the next device.

It has also been rumored that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be worth the wait and would even beat the Apple iPad Pro that will launch this year. The Surface Pro 4 is claimed to have two variants, the regular 12-inch and the all-new 14-inch model as well. This might be well received in the Ultrabook category but slating the Surface Pro 4 as a 14-inch tablet might be pushing it a bit too much.

This also means that both variants will have different specs under the hood. Intel’s Mobile M processor might be sported in the regular one and will be the affordable of the two. The 14-inch model is said to boast the latest Intel i5 and i7 processors.

Storage options will remain similar to what the Surface Pro 3 has on-board; which includes the 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB of space. However Microsoft might also go a bit on the wild side and break out the 1TB option. If such a thing ever happens we bet Microsoft might certainly find a lot of buyers for its new Surface Pro 4, we would be in that list.

Another thing to look forward to for the Surface Pro 4 is the pre-loaded Windows 10. We know Microsoft has been delaying the launch and kept the release of its latest Windows OS for a summer debut but, this has kept a lot of users on the edge. Having out-of-the-box Windows 10 on the Surface Pro 4 might help things go in favor for the company.

Now Windows 10 is pegged for a summer release, so we would safely tag the Surface Pro 4 to hit the announcement stand and the public by October 2015. Comparing all this to what we know about the Apple iPad Pro set to hit somewhere in fall 2015; the features that Apple plans to outfit on its Pro tablet do not give the Surface Pro 4 a tough time, at least on paper.

According to MacRumors, the Pro version of the iPad would inch towards a 12-inch to 13 inch display screen, bundled with Apple magic and the iOS 8. Touch ID fingerprint sensor will be happening and a strong suggestion of a stylus could be in the works as well. Of course this is all a rumor until Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) makes anything official. Under the hood, the Apple iPad Pro will be powered by the A8X processor with 2GB of RAM. Storage might be an area where Apple could disappoint us limiting the iPad Pro with 64GB, 128GB and a maybe a 512GB. It might actually be done away with a 16GB variant.

A USB 3.0 port, a Mini Display Port and a microSD card slot sporting on the Surface Pro 4 might swing the balance in favor of Microsoft.

Pricing might be the final blow in passing the final verdict between the Apple iPad Pro and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, whereby the former would be ranked somewhere within $700 to $800 range and the latter might be priced towards the $900 mark. However let’s wait and see when both companies make it official and which one actually gets the first mover advantage.
