Microsoft Corporation To Bring Candy Crush Saga To Windows 10

Nearly every version of Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows OS comes with certain pre-installed games; it has now become a company tradition. Games like Minesweeper and Solitaire have charmed users for decades; interestingly, Microsoft plans to add “Candy Crush Saga” to the list now.

Created by the social game developer, King Digital Entertainment PLC (NYSE:KING), the game is extremely popular all over the world, and continues to entertain millions of users worldwide. Commenting on the game’s popularity, Business Insider reported that users spent almost $1.33 billion to purchase in-game virtual goods last year.

Apparently, the game will be pre-installed in the upcoming Windows 10. Users who upgrade their  OS to the latest  Windows, the game will be automatically installed in their new system. Furthermore, the game will also offer cross-play feature for iOS and Android devices.

The move will definitely favor King Digital, attracting a whole new audience base that it could not reach before. Windows is the most popular and widely used OS in the world, and by pre-installing the game, the technology giant could make sure that it reaches every Windows 10 user.

Fans of the game will be very pleased with the news, since now they will be able to enjoy the game on their latest Windows OS. However, the decision may not be popular among people who are not familiar with the game, since; considering it to be an aggressive push strategy by the company.

It’s easy to guess the reason to include Candy Crush Saga in Windows 10. While there hasn’t been an official announcement from Microsoft or King Digital, it can be assumed that a revenue-sharing deal has taken place between the two companies.

Candy Crush Saga is not the only game to be included in Windows 10. Microsoft has hinted that over time, it will also include other games from King Digital. Yet, it remains to be seen if these games will be automatically installed or not.

As of now, the tech giant has not announced any release date for Windows 10, specualation is that it will be launched by this summer.
