A redesigned version of Twitter’s search results interfere is rolling out to all logged-in web users, according to a report from TechCrunch.
In addition to a more streamlined look and feel, the new Twitter search will allow you to filter results to show only top tweets, live tweets, accounts, photos, videos, news and so on.
Searching Twitter via the web will return a brand new search results page beginning with a selection of top tweets that’s not unlike what you would expect to see in Twitter’s old search interface.
When before you only had two options of sorting search results — either top tweets or all tweets — there will now be other tabs available that will allow you to effortlessly switch between “Live” tweets (formerly “all tweets”), accounts, photos, videos, and other options.
The new interface also makes it more user friendly to access the advanced search options, as well as sort tweets based on who is tweeting near your current location.
According to TechCrunch, this update began rolling out last week following a limited test of the new search interface that began back in April.
The overarching goal of this update appears to be to make Twitter search easier and more intuitive — perhaps as a way to make the service more appealing to new users who may feel overwhelmed by Twitter’s learning curve.
