Earlier today, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) had come across a rather embarrassing situation when the company had to cancel the ESL 'Halo Master Chief Collection' championship due to connectivity issues. The company confirmed the cancellation of the event via its Twitter page.
Halo Master Chief Collection comprises of all the games in the Master Chief timeline and puts them into one disk after getting the remaster treatment. Of the four games, 'Halo 2' is the game that received the anniversary treatment and was redone from scratch.
The game was destined to be a success until its launch, which was marred by a number of connectivity problems that frustrated gamers. For a long period, gamers were unable to get into lobbies and matches. Even when they did, the experience was rather lackluster.
Microsoft recently came up with a solution that would require a beta, which caused more embarrassment for the company. Halo MCC came off as a failure to some degree for the company, since Xbox servers are regarded to be the best in the business.
The aforementioned tournament comprises of 47 teams from all over North America, with each and everyone battling for the $3000 on the line. However, this time around fans weren't able to even connect to the game due to "joinability " issues.
Microsoft was quick to respond to the problems and stated that the company has started looking into the matter deeply. Microsoft is set to launch 'Halo 5 Guardians' this holiday season and would want to avoid any such issues from being persistent.
